This match brought together two teams from the same side of the draw who, due to the impact of weather, did not get to play each other in the regular season, and then were matched together in the first qualifying which was won by South Eastern. North Shore progressed to the semis as the fourth team and afforded themselves the chance at redemption by winning that match against Inner West Harbour who had topped the other side of the regular draw.
In the championship game South Eastern won the toss and chose to bat first. The pressure was on throughout an innings which included 4 run outs and a hat-trick which consisted of three bowled dismissals before a target of 97 runs was set for the win. North Shore Team 1 set to the task and with 7 wickets down passed the total to seal victory and the last ever Foster Shield for 2017.
Special credit must be given to the team’s head coach, Andrew Ridley for his constant support, as well as coaches, Ben Calloway and Gian Pandit for their input throughout the season.
Congratulations go to all our DCA teams who represented the North Shore in this inter-association competition with many team and individual achievements and victories.
