As can be seen above a few of the team started their playing careers with the NSJCA in the U10s (some 7 seasons ago) and the core of the team have been together since the U12s.
After a few lean seasons of missing finals, the team had a fitting finale to their NSJCA careers by winning the Watson Shield in a thrilling final against the dominate team of their age group - Central Coast.
Coach Brett Elliott said ‘to see these boys grow from boys into men has been very rewarding. Right from the U10s, this group of boys has always had the talent to be successful and it was a great thrill for myself and Jason to create an environment that helped the boys enjoy playing their cricket as a team and finally realise their potential. Hopefully we managed to teach them a few things along the way as well. To see the boys fight hard and deliver match winning performances under pressure throughout the competition was very rewarding and a big reason why we were successful this season.
Further I would also like to acknowledge the contribution of previous coaches Chris Taylor (U10s-U13s) and Duncan Bathgate (U14s) along with the parents of all the boys this season who were a joy to work with as we collectively cheered our boys on to victory.’.
Over the coming weeks we will be profiling the players from the victorious U16 team via face book.
The NSJCA would also like to thank Brett and Jason and the other coaches & managers over the journey for their hard work and dedication.
