The forecast for this weekend is for very hot and humid conditions.
A reminder that teams can find the NSJCA Hot Weather Policy in the Blue Book – Appendix E or on the website here.
Team managers must encourage all players to drink sufficient fluids before and throughout and after the game and wear long sleeved shirts, sunscreen, sunglasses and broad-rimed hats.
When the air temperature is above 38°C, games MUST BE cancelled.
When the temperature is above 34°C, the umpire can make the decision to cancel or modify the game, taking into account humidity, sunlight, shade, temperature, wind, time and location.
For the purposes of determining the air temperature, measurements are taken in the shade at a height of 1.2m above the ground. Please note that car temperature gauges are not reliable and should not be used for this purpose.
